Clients with ear, jaw and facial pain can, depending on the cause, find relief through craniosacral therapy

Problems around the ear and face are quite common and often, although unpleasant, are not serious. However, it is always essential to consult your GP to try to establish the cause and to rule out any serious problems.

TMD & Facial Pain

Temporomandibular joint problems and facial pain can occur for many reasons  including stress and anxiety. As well as working to reduce stress levels, Craniosacral Therapy can help to restore craniosacral motion in the area and this can help to reduce pain and to restore function.  CST is well placed to work with the cranial nerves that are often implicated in cases of trigeminal neuralgia.

Tinnitus & Middle Ear Problems

Tinnitus and middle ear problems are often difficult to get relief from. Depending on the root cause of the problems, craniosacral therapy can help to provide relief as it works to re-establish balance within the sutures and structures of the ear and jaw and also to settle the central nervous system.

As people with Tinnitus usually have nervous systems stuck in the fight /flight response it can take time to help them settle. Once they do settle and start to find stillness there is often relief from the tinnitus that can start to back off or cease to be problematic. Tinnitus problems that respond to CST can show immediate changes but will generally need support long term to make a meaningful difference.
